Identity Verification Providers
For agreements that need a higher level of assurance, Propper Sign can verify a signer's identity with a third-party provider before they sign. This goes beyond an email or SMS passcode by confirming the signer against a verified identity.
Supported providers
- ID.me
- CLEAR
- OneID
When to use it
Use a third-party identity provider for regulated or high-value transactions where you need stronger proof of who signed. For everyday agreements, an email or SMS one-time passcode is usually enough. See Signer verification for the built-in options.
How it works
Identity verification is applied per agreement. When it is enabled, the signer completes verification with the chosen provider before they can open and sign the document, and the result is recorded in the signing audit trail.
You set the available verification options in your Sign settings. See Sign settings for the authentication defaults.
Verification with a third-party provider may be part of a specific plan or add-on. Talk to us if you do not see it in your settings.
