Sign & Locker Integration
When an agreement is completed in Propper Sign, the executed document automatically flows into Propper Locker, its permanent home for storage, search, and lifecycle management. You do not need to manually download and re-upload signed agreements.
How It Works
Once all required recipients have signed an agreement in Sign, the final executed PDF is automatically stored in Locker as a new document. It lands in your repository ready to search, tag, and manage, without any manual steps on your part.
This integration requires Locker to be enabled on your organization's plan. Contact your account team if completed Sign agreements are not appearing in Locker.
What Gets Transferred
When a completed Sign agreement lands in Locker, the following data is carried over:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Document name | The agreement name from Sign |
| Category | Agreement |
| Status | Active |
| Upload date | The date and time the agreement was completed |
| Source | Propper Sign (API value: "sign") |
The stored file is the final executed PDF, the same document recipients receive when they complete signing. The Sign audit certificate and event history remain accessible in Propper Sign and are not duplicated in Locker.
Finding Sign-Originated Documents
Sign-completed agreements appear in the standard Locker → Documents list alongside any documents you uploaded manually.
To filter to Sign-originated agreements:
- Go to Locker → Search.
- In the Filters panel, filter by Category: Agreement.
- Optionally add a Tag filter if your team applies consistent tags to Sign agreements.

Apply a shared tagging convention to Sign agreements, such as source: sign or type: executed-agreement, so your team can quickly filter the Locker repository to show only Sign-completed documents.
Next Steps After a Document Lands in Locker
Once an agreement is in Locker, the full document lifecycle begins:
Add Metadata and Tags
Open the document, go to the metadata panel, and add any relevant tags, counterparty name, contract type, renewal date, or any fields your team tracks. Consistent tagging makes search dramatically more useful over time.
See Metadata and Organizing Documents.
Track Key Deadlines with Obligations
If the agreement has a renewal date, notice period, or compliance deadline, attach an Obligation so the right person gets reminded before it lapses.
See Obligations.
Set or Verify the Retention Policy
Locker applies your organization's retention policy automatically. If executed agreements have a different retention requirement (for example, keep contracts for 7 years), confirm the correct policy scope covers this document type.
See Retention Policies.
Place a Legal Hold If Needed
If an agreement becomes relevant to litigation or an investigation, place a legal hold immediately to freeze it from archival or deletion.
See Legal Hold.
Viewing the Sign Audit Trail
The audit certificate and event history for a Sign agreement remain in Propper Sign, not in Locker. To access the full signing audit trail:
- Go to Sign → Agreements.
- Find the completed agreement.
- Click Download and select Audit Certificate, or view the Audit Trail from the agreement detail.
See Sign Audit & Compliance for full details.
