Completion Certificate

When an agreement is fully signed, Propper Sign generates a completion certificate, a PDF document that captures the complete signing record. This is what you present if an agreement is ever questioned: it shows who signed, when, from which device, how they verified their identity, and a cryptographic confirmation that the document hasn't been altered since.

What It Contains

The certificate covers the full picture of the signing transaction:

  • Agreement details, the document name, agreement ID, and completion timestamp
  • Sender information, who sent the agreement and when
  • Per-signer record, for each person who signed: their name and email, how they verified their identity, when they viewed and signed the document, and the type of signature they used
  • Event timeline, a chronological log of every action, from sending to completion
  • Integrity confirmation, a cryptographic seal that makes any post-signing modification to the document detectable

→ See Document Validity & Trust for how the certificate holds up as evidence in legal and regulatory contexts.

How to Download

Single agreement:

  1. Go to Sign > Agreements and open the completed agreement.
  2. Click Download and select Completion Certificate.

Multiple agreements at once:

  1. Go to Sign > Agreements.
  2. Check the boxes next to the agreements you want.
  3. Click Bulk Actions > Download Certificates.

You'll receive a ZIP file with one certificate per agreement.

Keep Your Own Copies

Propper Sign retains audit records on your behalf, but you should download and store your own copies alongside the signed documents, especially for high-stakes agreements. Having a local copy ensures you can access the record for legal proceedings regardless of anything else.
