How to Search
- Use the search bar at the top of Locker, or go to Locker → Search in the sidebar.
- Type a keyword or phrase.
- Results appear in real time across document titles, tags, and metadata.
- Use the Filters panel to narrow results.
Search covers document names, tags, and metadata. The more consistently your team applies tags and fills in metadata fields, the more precise your search results will be.
Access
Search is available to all team members with view access, provided your organization's plan includes it. Roles & Permissions control which documents each user can see in results.

Troubleshooting
The Search section isn't visible in my sidebar. The dedicated Search section, with full-text content search, advanced filters, and saved searches, requires a plan that includes it. If Locker → Search doesn't appear in your sidebar, contact your account team to confirm it's enabled for your organization.
Note: searching by name, tags, and metadata is available to all Locker users from the main document list. The dedicated Search section adds advanced filters for narrowing results.
A document I know exists isn't showing up in search results.
- Check the document name, tags, and metadata. Search covers names, tags, and metadata fields. If none of those contain the term you searched for, the document won't appear.
- Check the document status. Archived documents don't appear in default search results. If a document seems to be missing, check its status in the document list — it may have been archived by a retention policy. Contact your organization admin to unarchive it.
- Check your access level. You can only see documents your role gives you access to. If a colleague can find a document you can't, ask your organization admin to check your role at Organization → Members.
